Personal Attention

At the The Sample Rack expect personal attention by a wedding gown expert who will advise you on size, style and alterations that will enhance your fit and image while maintaining the integrity of the gown.  At the same time, you will never be pressured into a decision for which you are not ready.

Many brides-to-be bring friends and family with them to help with making a decision.   We welcome this with comfortable seating for guests and suggest you keep the number to one or two so that you can focus on the beautiful gowns and enjoy the experience.

In order to preserve the personal attention and respect other brides-to-be, we recommend that you schedule an appointment.  If you are unable to keep your appointment please call to let us know so another bride is able to use that time.

 

Gown Information

Our selection changes quickly. We always have several hundred gowns to choose from in a variety in designers, fabrics, styles and sizes.  The designers we have on hand will usually include: Alvina Valenta, Pronovias, Alfred Sung, Jasmine Couture, Enzoani, Sophia Tolli, Maggie Sottero Haute Couture, Stephen Yearick, Matthew Christopher, 

We carry gowns sized 4 through 24 and remind you that rule of thumb for wedding gowns and better dresses is that sizes are generally two sizes higher than with other garments.  This means that if you wear a size 10 in street clothes, you should expect to try on size 14 gowns.  Wedding gowns are constructed to be custom fitted through alteration.  Do not expect a precise fit when you first try on any gown.  Sizing down several sizes is usually possible.

 

Gown Prices

Prices at The Sample Rack start at $200 and no gown costs over $1,000.  The original retail prices for the gowns range between $1,000 and $5,000. 

 

Bridal Gown Shopping Checklist

• If you make decisions quickly without trying lots of possibilities, do you have cash or credit card with you so that you can purchase the perfect gown immediately? Remember that many of The Sample Rack gowns are one of a kind.
• If you enjoy trying on every style and designer, have you visited other bridal shops before The Sample Rack so that you will feel comfortable buying the perfect gown when you find it here?
• We have some shoes you can try with the gowns, but you may wish to bring your own for better comfort.
• You may want to bring several bras and perhaps a body shaper like Spanx, as some dresses fit differently depending on the undergarments.
• You may wish to bring one or two friends to help you decide. More than that, while welcome, sometimes takes the focus off of the experience.
